Here at Three Diamonds, we know wedding planning can be a lot to handle and dress-shopping can seem intimidating at first! You’ll be in safe hands with our team of experts. We are here to answer any questions you might have as you plan your dream wedding. Here are some common questions about our experience that might be helpful as you get ready for your appointment. We can't wait to meet you!

 

What is your experience like?

You can expect to have a one-of-a-kind VIP experience when you book an appointment at Three Diamonds! All of our appointments are private, so you get the whole store to yourself. You have a two hour time block and you can try on as many dresses as you would like. You can also bring as many people as you would like, however we suggest limiting it to your closest friends/family that will be team bride! During your appointment, we will serve complimentary mimosas, champagne and treats for you and your guests. When you and your guests arrive, your bridal consultant will ask you all about your wedding and what your dream dress entails. She will then pull from our amazing selection of dresses based upon what you are looking for! She will be your personal bridal consultant your entire appointment! Our consultants are dedicated to finding the dress that will make you look and feel your absolute best. Our experienced consultants will make the search as fun and easy as possible; we love finding you exactly what you’re looking for, even if you don’t know what that is yet. Be ready to leave with your dream gown!

Do you accept walk-ins?

At Three Diamonds, we are by appointment only for any shopping occasion so that we can provide the absolute best experience possible! Because we are by appointment only, we do not have any operating business hours.

When should I start shopping for my dress?

We recommend having your wedding date and venue booked before you begin your search for a dress. It is important to have the date and location established so you can envision the wedding’s overall look, and know when your dress needs to be ready! Gowns typically take three to six months to arrive in our store and alterations generally require one to two months. Start shopping about eight to ten months in advance to ensure you have plenty of time to make up your mind without any stress! We do work with amazing designers who have “priority gowns” that we can get shipped out typically within a month if your wedding is very soon. If your wedding is more than a year away, we recommend waiting a bit, but it’s all up to you! We have many brides who get their dress early so they can focus on other things in the planning process. Styles and tastes can change, so we want to make sure you start your search when you’re truly ready to say yes to the dress!

What undergarments should I wear?

Do not worry much about what undergarments you should wear while trying on dresses. The only thing we would absolutely suggest wearing is nude underwear. If you are comfortable going braless for the appointment, that is what we would recommend! All of our dresses have cups sewn inside them to give you the support you need. You are always welcome to wear shapewear if you wish to do so as well! Most of the time it is not needed.

Should I bring shoes?

If you already have wedding shoes that you are set on wearing, please feel free to bring them if you feel like it will help you decide on a dress! If not, shoes are not needed and won’t be until you start alterations appointments.

What should I bring to my appointment?

If you have already have some ideas about your dream dress, feel free to bring along pictures, Pinterest ideas, anything! If you’re coming in blind and have no idea what you want yet, we can work with that, too! If you have any significant pieces of jewelry or other accessories you must wear on your special day, feel free to bring them as well to try on with dresses.

How many guests can I bring to an appointment?

Because our experience is so unique, you can bring as many people as you would like. However, we would suggest bringing two or three people whose opinions you value most. When it comes to choosing a dress, more is not always merrier! You’ll want to bring guests who understand your true style, give supportive feedback, and will help you look your best. Hearing too many opinions can be overwhelming for even the most confident of brides, so keep the guest list short and sweet.

What is the average price of a wedding dress at Three Diamonds Bridal?

We have dresses ranging from $500 - $3,000, but the average dress is between $1,100 - $1,600. We truly pride ourselves on having a dress for everyone! Do not let the price of wedding dresses scare you, though! We only require a 50% deposit to order your gown and the other half is due when you pick up your gown. We also have a Three Diamonds credit card with 12 months no interest you can apply for as well to help ease the cost.

What should I know about gown sizing? Will you have my size available?

The first thing to know is that bridal sizing is NOT the same as normal clothing sizes! We know, we know: as if the process wasn’t complicated enough, right? Do not be surprised if your gown size is different that what you're used to hearing because wedding dress sizes run a few sizes small. If you are a jean size 10/12, you will most likely be a wedding dress size 14/16. However, we do pride ourselves on having the same amount of dresses in both plus size and regular size, so do not worry about not being able to try on dresses. We carry dresses from size 0 - 32. It is rare that any bride fits into a sample perfectly, so remember that we will help clip you into each dress so you know what it will look like when its in your size.

What happens if I try on dresses that aren’t my size?

We’ll help you envision how the dress will look on you, even if it’s not an exact fit. Bridal sizing can be confusing, so your consultant will help you even if you don’t happen to be a perfect sample size (and who is?!). Some silhouettes, like ballgowns and A-line dresses, are easier to try on even if the size isn’t perfect. Talk to your consultant and we’ll do everything we can to help you feel comfortable and confident during your appointment!

What kind of dresses does Three Diamonds Bridal have?

As for wedding dresses, we have all different silhouettes in a wide variety of styles and sizes! Whether you are looking for something timeless and simple or trendy and boho, we have many to choose from. We also have many different styles of bridesmaids and flower girl dresses!

What if I need more time to choose my dress?

If you need more time to make your decision, we will schedule a return appointment for you. Our goal is that every bride we meet says yes to the perfect dress while having the best time! Just like your initial dress appointment, your return will also be a private appointment. These appointments are so much fun and the perfect time to say yes to your dress. There's no guest limit and we can provide champagne again, too!

Can I bring children to my wedding dress or bridesmaids appointment?

While we are a family-friendly store, children can be a distraction if someone is not with them at all times. In our experience, children also get bored quickly, seeing wedding dress after wedding dress. As such, we strongly encourage you to leave the kids at home and let yourself focus on your dress hunt. If you need to bring children to your appointment, we do ask they are given a separate form of entertainment and remain seated during the appointment. We do have flower girl dresses though and would love to schedule a separate appointment with you for them to have their time to shine!

How long does it take dresses to come in?

Dresses typically take 3 - 6 months to arrive, however every designer and gown is different. With COVID-19, we cannot always guarantee a six month turnaround from manufacturers. We do work with amazing designers who offer “priority gowns” that we can typically get shipped to us within a month for our brides who are eloping or have a quickly approaching wedding date. During your appointment, we will take into consideration what dresses we can pull based upon your wedding date so we can ensure that you will have your dress within plenty of time before your wedding!

Will I need alterations?

Yes! Alterations make a dress truly yours, tailoring your gown perfectly to your body and your style. A seamstress can work wonders – shortening straps, hemming the length, adding a bustle – almost anything you can imagine to make your dream dress a reality. Don’t be worried that your dress needs altering! It’s a totally normal part of the process, and you’ll be so thrilled when you put on a gown perfectly customized for you.

Do you have alterations in-house?

Because we’re a small boutique, we do not offer in-house alterations, but we’ll recommend some local experts who we love and have worked with for years. While you’re waiting for your dress to arrive, we recommend you select your shoes, because you’ll need them when you start your alterations!

Are alterations included in the price of my gown?

No, we do not perform alterations at our boutique, although we’ll happily refer you to a trusted seamstress to perfect your gown. They are in charge of their own work and pricing. We recommend budgeting $150 to $600 for most alterations, although more complex alterations – like adding sleeves or extra beading – may incur additional costs. It really just depends how much altering you need!

What happens during my pick-up appointment?

At your pick-up appointment, you’ll be trying on your actual wedding dress, and – most exciting of all – taking it home with you that very day! Your dress will be packaged in a beautiful pink Three Diamonds garment bag, so it will be protected and, if you’re storing your gown at home, your fiancée won’t be able to see. Please note, this is not an alterations appointment as we refer to local seamstresses for your alterations.

How can I choose my accessories?

At Three Diamonds, we have plenty of gorgeous veils and jewelry headpieces to complete your look. Your consultant will recommend accessories during your appointment to help accentuate your gown. If you don’t choose any accessories on your first visit, we recommend you try on some with your dress at your pick-up appointment, so you can see the whole look together! We are also more than happy to schedule you an accessories appointment if needed.
